Vans taking part in collaborations is nothing new to the footwear brand. They collaborate with boutiques, designers and artist. But collaborating with a restaurant?! That’s something you don’t hear every day. Let’s take a closer look at the Vans x Yardbird pack consisting of the Vans Sk8-Hi Notchback Pro and an Authentic Pro.
Vans teams up with a Yakitori Hong Kong Restaurant by the name of Yardbird for their latest collaboration. Both models in the pack are said to be inspired by the restaurant’s favorite Japanese traditional “Tengui” pattern. Both models will feature an all-black upper that is designed to be a versatile sneaker ready for what ever your day has planned for you. Both black uppers will be contrasted by the blue polka dots you see on the white lining and tongue. The shoes were available yesterday but it turns out that they were only available for the employees of Yardbird as well as their friends and family. Would you have copped if they had released to the public? Let us know in the comments below.
Nothing too special on this collab. The suede on the shoes look clean, but since I’m not too familiar with Japanese traditional “Tengui” pattern, these sneakers do nothing for me.
