When it comes to Under Armour at the moment, most of the attention is centered around the Under Armour Curry 4 and how much better it looks then its predecessors. Under Armour finally decided to give Stephen Curry’s signature shoe a dramatically different look in comparison to the Curry 1, 2, and 3, and it looks like they’re headed in the right direction. The Curry 4 features knitted detailing on the upper along with a sock-like construction, two things that have played a major part in the resurgence of runners the last few years. Just look at shoes like the Nike Air Presto or the adidas Ultra Boost, both feature knitted uppers with a bootie-like construction. Under Armour is now joining in on the fun with the release of the all-new Threadborne Shift.
The Under Armour Threadborne Shift is a lifestyle runner that features a Knit bootie construction with what UA is calling a Threadborne upper. It provides your foot with a breathable, compression-like fit making it formfitting and snug. Also as you can see, the shoe is pretty much like a sock so you just slide your foot into it and it immediately hugs your foot. Minimal branding is seen on the shoe as it only appears on the synthetic suede heel counter and the tongue. As a result, you get a versatile runner that you can wear casually with ease. Under Armour also made sure you get that snug feeling by adding flexible, elastic bands in the forefoot and on the heel, something that you definitely feel when you slip your foot into the shoe. Down below we have a rubber outsole for traction & durability.
At the moment the UA Threadborne Shift is available in four different colorways of Black/Ivory, Sandstorm/Dune (pictured above), Aluminum/Graphite, and Downtown Green/Artillery Green. One of the best things about the shoe is its price point which has been set at $94.99, cause we all know that it’s a rarity these days to find a stylish runner for under $100. (Kudos for the price tag UA).
I’m personally a big fan of lightweight runners as I find myself getting rid of more and more basketball shoes and replacing them with shoes that I can wear with ease that are both stylish AND comfortable. The Under Armour Threadborne Shift takes care of both of those departments for me and therefore fits perfectly into my rotation. So thank you to Under Armour for sending out the Threadborne Shift in the fancy magnet box AND also thank you for the customized iPad (that I wasn’t expecting AT ALL and I’m still in total shock about haha).
