Designer Todd Snyder and classic footwear brand PF Flyers once again team up to give us another collaborative effort. This time around the canvas is none other than the classic PF Flyers Grounder Hi. Said to be inspired by Snyder’s obsession with military functionality and PF Flyer’s American legacy, the Grounder results in a modern and versatile looking sneaker. Let’s get a closer look at the Todd Snyder x PF Flyers Grounder Hi.
Using military canvas and leather as its main source of construction, the collaboration combines a vintage army aesthetic with premium materials to give the shoe a sport-fueled and functional look. The shoe is constructed from 14oz military spec’d canvas. It also comes with a rugged rubber outsole and accented by the luxe pigskin leather lining. Inside the shoe you will find a new tailored last plus signature PF Flyers insert that offers a premium fit and comfort. Additional features include the elevated rubber foxing, the gunmetal eyelets and lace tips, and the embroidered leather ankle patch to give the shoe that finishing touch.
This is what Snyder had to say regarding the sneaker:
“My favorite thing is digging through flea markets and hunting for treasures, so when I went to visit Christopher Tobias and the PF Flyers team in Boston and saw all their catalogs from the early 1900s it just blew me away. This new style is based on an amazing vintage sneaker in their archive from when they were making shoes for the military. The military has always been a huge source of inspiration for me, and when I saw that, I just knew we had to reintroduce it.”

The shoes look pretty dope. The inspiration behind the shoe is executed perfectly onto the actual shoe. The materials used look to be on point and the colors used are perfect.
