Designed as a joint collaboration between heralded Nike designers, Tinker Hatfield and Eric Avar, the Nike Air Flight Huarache was originally introduced during 1992 and was considered a futuristic silhouette at that time, due to the implementation of a neoprene inner sleeve and leather exoskeleton.

Revived in a Los Angeles Lakers-inspired colorway for its latest execution this year, the classic basketball silhouette is clad in premium White leather overlays, while its neoprene bootie construction, alongside the distinctive winged-ankle component is covered in contrasting Court Purple. The respective theme is rounded out with University Gold accents gracing the tongue, lining and signature rubber heel cage.

Finished off with a crisp White sole unit and matching laces, this once innovative sandal-inspired Air Flight Huarache is now available Nike retailers for $115.

Author’s Take

I’ve always liked the Air Flight Huarache since its introduction. I’m not a die-hard Lakers fan, but the colorway is nice nonetheless. Supporters of the team should consider purchasing.
