If this shoe is the sequel to the original Converse Weapon, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many drastic changes from one version of a shoe to the next! Coming in a completely revamped look, let’s take a look at the Converse Weapon 2.0.
The original Converse Weapon was a high top basketball shoe. The Converse Weapon 2.0 comes donning a low top silhouette while also opting to go with a much more modern approach. Choosing not to go with a leather upper, the Converse Weapon 2.0 comes in a mulit-colored neoprene upper while sitting atop a brand new sole that appears to be inspired by the runners we see nowadays. Additional details of the shoe include the synthetic detailing found on the foxing of the shoe, and the addition of a black heel counter that reaches all the way up to the first set of eyelets. The Weapon 2.0 has a look of its own and it’s hard to believe it came from the original Converse Weapon. Available at international retailers now, we will let you know once it’s available stateside.
At first glance, I didn’t have the slightest idea that this shoe was a Converse, let alone a sequel to the Converse Weapon high top basketball shoe. It kinda looks like a skateboard shoe with running aspirations, but that may be just me.
All in all, I appreciate when shoe brands take a leap of faith, per say, and embrace and Initiate change in the aesthetics of their products.
Change is good. Good work Converse.
