When the Air Jordan Future arrived on the scene last year it was met with somewhat mixed reviews. Maybe it was the first couple of colorways that were a little overpriced or the thought of taking the classic Air Jordan 11 sole and adding a completely new upper to it.
Fast forward more than a year later and the lifestyle silhouette from Jordan Brand is one of their biggest hits since its release. This year they have also created a low top version of the shoe that if you ask me is too similar to the original mid version. There’s always a few sample colorways that never make it past a certain stage for one reason or another and here is one colorway of the Future that never made it to fruition. Dubbed the “Project X”, this sample GS pair of Futures features a black woven upper with a multicolor gradient midsole. The multiple colored midsole is believed to be inspired by past colorways of the sneaker that released, so it’s kind of like a “What The” Future in a sense.
Would you have liked to see this colorway release in men’s sizes or is the midsole a little too colorful for you?
The Air Jordan Future is one of my favorite kicks from 2014. I own four pairs all in tonal colorways. This multicolor midsole is a little too much for me though. Looks like you have a rainbow on your feet. Haha.
