(Ok, you made it this far and you’re still not sure who Tinker Hatfield is and why sometimes you see in the comments on YouTube or Instagram “Tinker’s a genius” or “Tinker’s lost his damn mind.”  Here’s the quick rundown so you don’t embarrass yourself next time you’re with your friends who do know.  Tinker Hatfield is Nike’s Vice President for Design and Special Projects and is the mind behind some of the greatest shoes ever made, including the Nike Air Max 1, Nike Air Trainer, Nike Air Huarache and of course, a big chunk of the Air Jordan retros you know and love today, including Air Jordans 3 through 15.  He also consulted on LeBron James’ first signature shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Generation, designed Roger Federer’s Nike Zoom Vapor Tour 9 and Marty McFly’s Nike Air Mag among others.)
