Kendrick Lamar will finally be releasing is own collaboration sneaker with Reebok. When Kendrick signed with Reebok in December of 2014, all everyone wanted to know is when his first collab with Reebok was gonna release and what silhouette was going to be used.
Since Kendrick has been the driving force behind the return of the Reebok Ventilator, it made perfect sense to use the classic silhouette for his project. The Kendrick Lamar x Reebok Ventilator decided to use a subtle tonal look while at the same time expressing a strong message. Kendrick Lamar is from Compton, California which is notoriously known for crime and gang violence. Kendrick decided to bridge the gap between the Crips gang who wear blue, and the bloods who wear red by placing their corresponding colors on the insoles, heel and tongue tag of each shoe. It’s meant to represent that we can all unite as one for the greater good.
Kudos for the concept behind this sneaker Kendrick. I expect them to sell out pretty much instantly due to his popularity and the dope inspiration behind the shoe. Retailing for $125, are you hoping to get your hands on a pair tomorrow?
