adidas is linking up with environmental group Parley for the Oceans. They recently sent a press release where they promised to release 7,000 pairs of the shoe sometime this month. Although it was unclear as to what day of the month the shoes would be dropping, many of us are thinking the 15th because the the product page for the shoes is live on the brand’s webstore with a countdown that’s set to expire on that date (Nov. 15). As far as the shoe goes, it comes with a knitted upper that consists of 95% ocean plastic and 5% recycled polyester. The heel counter comes with a wavy design aid to be inspired by the ocean since that’s where the materials cam from. Lastly, your beloved Boost midsole is placed down low. Another fact worth mentioning is that aside from these 7,000 shoes, adidas is also planning on dropping one million more sneakers using Parley ocean plastic all throughout 2017. The collaboration will also include apparel, such as soccer jerseys for Bayern Munich and Real Madrid made out of recycled ocean plastic that will release on Nov. 4 and Nov. 24.
