Alongside the previously featured 990, this new variation of the New Balance 996 is also noted as part of the brand’s “Ski” pack for Fall/Winter 2015 season.
Essentially taking cues from vintage ski sweaters and more as the source of its unique makeup, the model does emit a sort of worn-out look with a premium Grey suede upper. Various portions on the silhouette shaded light and dark to give the model a bit more character from this particular showcasing. Hits of Blue adorn the mesh toe box, tongue, collar area and “N” logo to complement the colorway, while a pop of Orange outlining the letter pronounces the design even more.
Additional Orange and Blue accents can be seen on the tongue tab, as touches of White on the laces, lining and midsole unit cap off the distinctive colorway. All adhered atop a Black outsole, you can find this latest pair at New Balance retailers now for $170.
I’m biased towards the silhouette already so I pretty much like it all the time. This colorway is definitely versatile and I like that subtle addition of Orange. A definitely nice pickup but the price is too high.
