The Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” received the retro treatment in 2004 (not the first or last time) and coincided with the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. That year was disappointing for Team USA Basketball as they ended up capturing only a bronze medal. Four players from that team were Jordan Brand athletes who were wearing special PE editions of the Air Jordan 7: Carmelo Anthony, Ray Allen, Jason Kidd and Michael Finley.
Up for sale on eBay for the first time ever was this Air Jordan 7 “Olympic” PE Collection that features a specially designed shoe for each of the previously mentioned athletes. As you can see Anthony’s pair features “Melo” on the heel, Ray Allen’s has the name “Ray”, Jason Kidd’s pair has his number “5”and his logo and Michael Finley’s edition features his “Fin” nickname. Each pair was made in the specific size of each player so you know these are truly one-of-a-kind sneakers. The collection ended up selling for $45,234.52 on eBay!! Talk about spending a nice chunk of change for some kicks. For all of you hardcore collectors out there, would you ever spend this much money on some shoes?
