Today Nike took the curtain off the very much leaked Kobe 7. Leaning more towards customizable options for performance, the model will release as the Kobe 7 System, known as the “Attack Fast”, and the Kobe 7 System Supreme, which incorporates the “Play Strong” as well as the “Attack Fast”. Customized performance will allow players to switch out ankle support and midfoot cushioning, while still maintaining the Kobe 7 feel.
Priced at $180, the Kobe 7 System Supreme will come with an “Attack Fast System, a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness, and the “Play Strong System”, a full-length Cushlon midsole and an ankle cuff for a plush, comfortable ride with great support. In addition to these options, Nike has also included next-generation Flywire technology and a a 3-D heel clip for enhanced support.
As with any Kobe shoe, style is also a factor in the design and Nike chose a predator motif that is expressed through patterns in the polyurethane outer shell that mix a Leopard, Great White Shark and Black Mamba. As we have also seen, the Kobe 7 will come in several graphic patterns fashioned after five different predators – the Leopard, Great White Shark, Poison Dart Frog and Grey Wolf. With these options and the addition of NIKEiD options starting December 22, this may be the most customizable Kobe yet.
Look for the Nike Zoom Kobe 7 to makes it official debut on December 22.
