On Saturday, Nike celebrates its 50th birthday. You would think that a milestone like that would be cause for a celebration in the streets and super limited edition drops that will sell for thousands on eBay, but Nike is choosing to play it cool. Hell, if it wasn’t for an infographic that circulated around the internets the past few days, most people wouldn’t even know about this day. So we’re going to take Nike’s lowkey approach and not celebrate their awesomeness too much today, but we couldn’t help but go down an internet rabbit hole the past few days and check out the commercials that helped shaped the brand’s seemingly untouchable image. So let’s take a look back at some of our favorite Nike Basketball commercials (well, more like commercial campaigns to account for multiple spots for one theme) ever. Greatest? Eh, that’s SEO for you; these are more of our favorites than anything definitive.  That’s for you to talk about in the comments.

Also, we included early Air Jordan commercials on here because they still had the swoosh in the signature instead of the Jumpman.  Also, thanks Wieden+Kennedy.

50. “H.O.R.S.E.”

Nike might have the best athletes, but they also do a great job of making their spots relatable to the everyday baller. Because who hasn’t done something ridiculous while playing a game of horse with a Hall of Fame point guard, right?
