The Nike Pegasus is one of the companies oldest and most successful franchises so it should come as no surprise that the model would be revamped with 2009’s runner in mind. The Pegasus 25 SE is composed of lightweight mesh and synthetic materials and hosts a hi tech sole. The model is not only spruced up visually, its also been Considered environmentally. Here are a few specs on the runner’s production:

Reduced Waste
Fewer materials used in the upper and smarter pattern-efficiency resulted in less waste, leading to an impressive reduction of 1.4 ounces of weight, or 13 percent, over the previous Pegasus. Less weight = less waste.

Environmentally Preferred Materials
Environmentally Preferred Materials (EPMs) were used wherever possible. The EPMs used in the upper have a high recycled content.

Smarter Pattern Efficiency
Nike Air bags were “˜nested’ together using smarter pattern efficiency in order to reduce waste.

Recycled Materials
The outsole uses Nike’s environmentally-preferred rubber as well as recycled Nike Grind.  The Nike Air bags also used 83 percent recycled content.

Water-Based Adhesives
Best-practice manufacturing enabled the air bag and midsole components to be attached using water-based adhesives.
