Nike KD 8 - N7

The latest installment of the Nike N7 collection is officially unveiled, as this special set is punctuated by the work of Native American artist, Bunky Echo-Hawk, a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. Renowned for his vibrant, large-scale paintings with pop-culture references ranging from arcade games to films, the overall message is to demystify stereotypes about Native American culture. In conjunction with his work, the new range is titled, Power of Perseverance, which essentially recognizes the movement of sport on Native lands and drives awareness of Native American culture. Featuring men and women’s basketball and running apparel and footwear, the lineup is highlighted by the KD 8, Hyperdunk 2015, Pegasus 32, Air Max Thea and Hyperfresh. Each silhouette incorporates a unique colorway/graphic that’s representative of the Native culture, such as four stars to represent four stages of life, in addition to Bunky Echo-Hawk’s signature work. All sales from the collection will benefit the Nike N7 Fund, which is dedicated for contributing to Native American and Aboriginal youth sport programs. To further help raise awareness, colleges Nevada, Oklahoma State, Florida State, San Diego State, Gonzaga, New Mexico, Stanford and Haskell Indian Nations University will wear corresponding uniforms in select games during November and December. Look for the lineup of footwear to arrive at select retailers starting November 7th.
