After getting our first leaked look yesterday, Nike decided to make things official today as they gave us a full look at their 2016 Nike Basketball All Star Collection.
Included in this year’s collection is the LeBron 13, Kobe 11, KD 8, Air Audacity and Hyperlive.
The LeBron 13 features a grey-green upper reminiscent of the neutral tones of Toronto’s winter along with icy marbled outsole and pins that honor James’ accomplishments.
Next we have the Kobe 11 Elite which comes with a black and green glow Flyknit upper a nod to the luminescence of the Northern Lights. The tongue and heel also have been hit with leather detailing for a unique look.
The KD 8 is inspired by the classic look of flags spotted throughout Toronto that represent the city’s internationalism. The graphic Flyweave upper is accompanied removable patches on the heel and tongue, and a white and light blue marble graphic on the outsole that references Toronto’s icy winter weather.
As for the non-signature sneakers, the first is the Nike Hyperlive that will be worn by Paul George. Ths silhouette has been draped in a bold Canadian-red upper and a maple-inspired gum outsole and leaf basketball logo.
Last but not least is the Air Audacity which will be worn by Anthony Davis. The Air Audacity brings the power of “The Brow” to the court and features a black upper with blue and yellow edetialing. The sneaker is completed with a heathered textile upper and an embroidered crest detail on the tongue.
The Nike Basketball Royalty Collection will be available February 11 at nike.com and select retail stores along with accompanying apparel and accessories.
Knowing the theme/inspiration behind each sneaker makes me look at them in a different way since now I understand the reasoning behind the colors chose. I still don’t like any of the pairs enough to add them to my collection. Oh yeah, what happened to the Kyrie 2s???
