With the NBA on a very short hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday, the daily NBA Kicks column has been converted to NFL Kicks for one day only. Thankfully, in between stuffing our stomachs with turkey and pie and just about every other food that you could imagine and would never dream of eating on a regular day, we saw plenty of heat from some familiar brands, even if some of them were taped up to the point where all you could see was the logo on the heel. Thanks, Arian Foster.
Anyways, Thanksgiving saw Jordan Brand coming up big with a special colorway of the Air Jordan 9 cleats for Andre Johnson – who also happened to set the NFL record for most receiving yards in back-to-back games – that would make a sneakerhead’s uhhh… head explode if it ever came to retail without cleats, Nike helping debut brand new pair of kicks for Calvin Johnson and Under Armour showing just how much of a foothold they have in the NFL. Oh, and then there’s Robert Griffin Three Strip… I mean, III showing off like he might win the NFL MVP if only his team wasn’t so mediocre and Andrew Luck wasn’t so damn good as well.
