During this NFL season, Jordan Brand left sneakerheads all aflutter over several pairs of cleats that made their way on the field.  While Jordan Brand has had a presence in the NFL since the days of Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and the still-active Charles Woodson, they made a big splash this year when they produced special colorways of the Air Jordan 9 exclusively for each of their athletes.  Old school Jordan heads will know that the Air Jordan 9 is no stranger (along with other classic Jordans) to the gridiron as Moss once burned defenses with his own pair back in the days. This time around, it was a concerted effort by Jordan Brand that even came with a fancy press release with cool pictures.  It might have something to do with the Air Jordan 9 retro release this past year; or it could be the great coincidence of 2012, you decide…

Anyways, with every Jordan Brand football athlete having already been eliminated from the playoffs with the exception of Michael Crabtree – who will be pushing the (kind of, but not really) Air Jordan XX8 football cleats – let us take a look back at the Air Jordan 9 football cleats that kept sneakerheads salivating during the season, hoping for a potential release.  Check out the gallery below and in the preceding pages and vote in the poll below to see which colorway you would like to see on store shelves, sans the cleats.
