Following its “Urban Sky” and “Riders Club” variants, the popular New Balance 999 is revised in a new Spring/Summer appropriate palette of Grey/Yellow for its latest iteration this season.
Boasting a mixed material construction comprised of mesh, leather and suede, a monochromatic palette defines the upper which is shaded in White, Grey and Black across its entirety. Pops of eye-catching Yellow further enhance the runner, that’s notably found on the tongue, laces, rear and outsole. All resting atop a tricolored ABZORB rubber sole unit to coordinate with its respective colorway, as well as offering maximum cushioning and traction in various terrains, the sneaker is topped off by a New Balance embroidery on the heel panel, in addition to its tongue tab.
I’ve always heard good things about the 999 and unfortunately I don’t own one. The previous All-White iteration was a nice option and this version will surely suit those who like the color Yellow. I’m a fan of the silhouette’s design and this colorway isn’t bad either. I like how its Greyscale composition tones down the shade of Yellow a bit, but still eye-catching.
