Here’s a rule for any NBA player that might be reading this: if you want to get headliner status on our (almost) daily recaps, wear a pair of Gary Payton classics or the Air Jordan 3.  While the reasons behind the 3s are pretty obvious (one of the greatest basketball sneakers of all time), old Gary Payton signatures are a different story.  Payton was one of those players that truly defined the 90s; between his stifling defense to his abrasive trash talking, few players could match the ferocity that “The Glove” brought to the court on a nightly basis.  Don’t believe me? Ask Jason Kidd…

So when somebody rocks one of his classic kicks during the late 90s, whether they’re the Nike Air Zoom Flight 98 (“The Glove”) or the Nike Air Zoom GP or even the Nike Ultraflights, they will get props here.  And that’s why Nick Young and Tony Wroten are your sneaker winners of the weekend.   Young came through with some Nike Air Zoom GP 2s on Saturday and Wroten rocked his Air Jordan 3s on Sunday.
