When the Philadelphia 76ers were putting together this year’s team, they had grand ambitions. They drafted a potential star in Nerlens Noel that might not play until next season; Andrew Bynum was allowed to walk after a year of spectacular haircuts and DNPs; and Nick Young was sent packing because they couldn’t handle the realness. All part of their master plan to tank miserably as they hoped to snag a high draft pick in next year’s star-studded class. But little did they know that guys like rookie Michael Carter-Williams and sophomore Tony Wroten were not having any of it. Wait, what?
Led by MCW’s (yeah, he needs a better nickname, people) stunning play and Wroten’s hot kicks, the Sixers have started the season out 3-1 with impressive wins against the Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls. It will be interesting to see moving forward if they will be more like the team we saw on opening night or the team that got bulldozed by the Golden State Warriors last night, but it’s safe to say that these guys are not down for that tanking plan the front office had in mind.
Check out the night in kicks highlighted by Wroten rocking the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue”, Dion Waiters breaking out his “Steel” Air Jordan 10 retro, Stephen Curry double dipping again in the Under Armour Spawn Anatomix on a night he gets a triple double, Chris Paul rocks another colorway of the Jordan CP3.VII (4 for 4 so far this year ) and much more. Well, not that much since it was only a four game night, but whatever…
