With the NBA season fast approaching its halfway mark, it’s safe to say that the Nike Air Penny 5 has been one of the most popular kicks found on the hardwood. Not only is the Penny 5 a very comfortable shoe to rock, it also has that retro feel that looks like it could have been designed in 1999, which automatically makes it a must-own for sneakerheads.
One of the players who has been rocking the Penny 5 for much of the season is Thaddeus Young. As one of the bright spots in the Sixers’ slowly spiraling season (it was going to be hard to expect them to keep up the pace they had been playing, especially with Andrew Bynum having been unavailable to play all season), Young has been a mainstay in our NBA Kicks column thanks to his endorsement (figuratively) of the Penny 5. But while Young has been rocking the “Orlando” colorway consistently, he wore the “Tour Yellow” colorway last night in a loss against the Nets. Well, at least his kicks were fresh.
Check out the rest of the night in kicks, featuring Kobe Bryant, James Harden, Paul George, LeBron James and much more.
