With 12 games on the NBA schedule on Wednesday night, it was going to take a lot for one player to become the headliner of today’s NBA Kicks recap.  I mean, you got LeBron James rocking a stylized “Solar Red” (Twitter’s words, not mine) Nike LeBron 10 PE, the Phoenix Suns going back in time with some retro jerseys and Jordans and Barkleys, several teams adopting the Nike Penny 5 and the Nike Kobe 8 System as their kicks of choice and Dwyane Wade debuting another colorway of his Li-Ning Way of Wades.  How exactly are you going to compete?

If you’re adidas and Iman Shumpert, you get a little crazy.  Ever since his return from an ACL injury, Shumpert has blessed our recaps with some great kicks from the three stripes, including a pair of Jeremy Scott.  But the highlight so far has to be the Crazy 8s that he wore last night against the Orlando Magic. Kobe Bryant’s first signature shoe lives on thanks to the likes of Shumpert (and at one time, Derrick Rose), who recognize its importance in the history of kicks.
