As a kid, you know I used to love Jordans. Who doesn’t huh? I remember when I came to high school in the states – in Rockville, Maryland. It was a unique day. I didn’t know we were sponsored by Jordan and at the time it was like a dream come true. Back then, I didn’t know what the future held and now I am with a great brand myself. I am proud to be with Under Armour and now this is a dream come true.
It had to look good and it had to represent me, the city of Toronto and my commitment to the team. That’s where the colors and design came in. And it had to represent my game, compliment my game when I’m on the court and go with my personality off the court. I don’t use high top sneakers. Every player has a unique style, the high top has a boxer swag and that is not me. I love the low cut. It gives you more flexibility and mobility with my ankles. It’s more comfortable and I think it looks so much better. I love, love the low cut.
Your game style in three words:
Passionate, hardworking, clutch
It’s a blessing and it’s unbelievable. It is hard to describe what I am going through – the love, the support, the fans kids. And this is just the beginning. I am motivated to keep doing the right thing even when no one is watching.
Stephen Curry is going to come out with a low cut, you know I love the lows and the Curry 1 low? I’d love to wear it.
This is my first shoe and we are going to build the foundation first, so not right now. But we will expand into different colorways and offer more sizes eventually. I really want to put out a purple colorway.
