Welcome back to another week where we highlight the Top 10 Stories Of The Week From The Kicks On Fire Instagram. This feature focuses on the top/most read stories of the week as chosen by you, our readers/supporters. The way it works is we post a picture about current sneaker news or an upcoming release on our Instagram account and many times we advise you to “click the link in our bio.” The main goal for that is so we can direct you to a certain piece of news on the site that we feel is important or breaking. It’s a quick way for us to connect you to the site in the click (or touch) of a button.
Last weekend Jordan Brand released a handful of sneakers and while this weekend they’ll only give us the Air Jordan 5 Low Fire Red, it seems that many people are excited about what Jordan Brand has planned for the future. We’ll be seeing the return of the French Blue 12s in a couple of weeks as well as a premium Air Jordan 4 with a snakeskin upper releasing some time this Summer. Solebox alos unveiled an “Uncaged” Ultra Boost that had everyone talking and even Vans got involved in the mix this week with a patriotic release that would make you think that 4th of July was right around the corner.
10The adidas Superstar Shined Bright In 2015
If you were to ask someone what adidas shoe they thought sold the most pairs in 2015 you would probably hear a few different answers. Yeezys? Tubulars? Ultra Boosts? Stan Smiths? None of the above. The iconic adidas Originals Superstar sold 15 million pairs in 2015! According to Bloomberg, the Superstar accounts for almost $1 in every $10 adidas took in last year. Wow!
9Vans Gets Patriotic In March
Are we celebrating 4th of July early this year or does Vans know something that we don’t? This week they released the American Freedom Pack consisting of the classic Sk8-Hi and Authentic silhouettes. Each silhouette was covered in patriotic prints that include the American flag and the bald eagle. You can wear these America-inspired kicks any time of the year because any day is a great day to rep for the red, white and blue.
8Roger Federer Brings Brings Out The Multicolor Kobe 11s
Roger Federer was in attendance court-side to watch Kobe Bryant and the Lakers face off against the Atlanta Hawks last weekend and he was wearing some fire on his feet. The tennis superstar was wearing the Nike Kobe 11 4KB that doesn’t release until March 14th. Being part of team Nike definitely has its perks.
7Snakeskin Covers This Upcoming Air Jordan 4
Scheduled to release some time this Summer is this premium colorway of the Air Jordan 4 that features a snakeskin textured leather all throughout the upper with tumbled leather detailing. Many people were immediately attracted to it since it’s an Air jordan 4 but when they find out that it’ll retail for $400 I’m sure that interest will disappear. I know that’s what happened to me.
6An OG Colorway Of The Air Jordan 1 Will Make A Return
The original classic Metallic Navy colorway of the Air Jordan 1 is returning in 2016. Having originally released back in 1985, this Air Jordan 1 keeps things simple and classic with a white leather upper and Metallic Navy detailing on the ankle, inner liner, Swoosh, outsole and the popular Nike Air branding on the tongue. Jordan Brand will definitely be heating up the Summer.
5The Air Max 1 Safari Is NOT a Collaboration After All
Nike finally gave us details about this upcoming Air Max 1 release. While most of us thought it was a re-release of the Atmos x Nike Air Max 1 Safari from 2002, Nike describe it as “reminiscent of a former collaborative Air Max release” and named it the Nike Air Max 1 Safari. Releasing on Monday, March 14th, do you plan on picking up a pair?
4The Air Jordan 12 French Blue Is Almost Back
Official images of the Air Jordan 12 French Blue released this week and if you were on the fence about picking up a pair we’re pretty sure that these pictures put those thoughts to rest. With the Air Jordan 12 The Master selling out pretty quick when it released last month, we can expect the same to happen with this colorway that people have been waiting for a long time.
3Another Uncaged Ultra Boost Is Headed Our Way
Solebox has put their own touch on this collaborative release of the adidas Ultra Boost and made it unique by removing the TPU cage from the side panels. They took a simple approach by using a solid grey Primeknit upper and also adding premium suede on the heel but keeping things tonal. The slight touches of red also provide a nice pop. These bad boys release in-store and online at Solebox this weekend but we’ll have to wait a little longer for them to arrive stateside.
2No Yeezys Until Summer 2016
All of us were expecting to see the adidas Yeezy Boost 750 Brown to release next week but a report from High Snobiety confirmed that there will be no adidas Yeezy releases until early Summer. Yes that means you’ll have to go almost three months without any 750s, 550s or 350s. At least Jordan Brand is releasing some dope stuff this Spring, right?
1Everyone Wants Nike Huaraches For Easter
Nike will be releasing a trio of Air Huaraches for Easter (well technically next week) and it seems that EVERYONE wants a piece. Even though this is labeled as a women’s release, I’m sure that many guys will be attempting to squeeze into the largest size possible in order to rock these for Easter or any day during the Spring/Summer. I’m not gonna lie, that Light Bone/Cream pair is pretty clean.
