Red October

Kanye West recently spoke on the Angie Martinez show via the Hot 97 radio station in New York about the rumors of him leaving Nike to sign with adidas. What he had to say was basically a confirmation, stating a few choice sentences throughout the heated interview including: “I took the adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family.” “Whatever is official, non-official, official—what y’all gonna see is I’m gonna be the Tupac of product.” “I’m gonna be the first hip-hop designer and because of that, I’m gonna be bigger than Wal-Mart.”

There were heavy hints about the tense situation with Nike back when Kanye West did an interview with Zane Lowe of BBC. Kanye discussed his role in the fashion industry and not being able to spread his creative wings as much as he would like to but it seems as if adidas is giving him exactly what he wants. Stay tuned for further updates throughout the situation.
