It’s been widely speculated on, but now we have confirmation from adidas that NBA All-Star Joakim Noah has signed on with the brand. Since the beginning of his NBA career, Noah has worn the sneakers of French sportswear brand Le Coq Sportif, which included several signatures and even a special All-Star colorway to celebrate his first appearance at the annual event. For those wondering about the connection, Noah famously lived in France for much of his childhood and is son of former French tennis professional player Yannick Noah.
The move is significant for adidas because it gives them a strong foothold on one of the NBA’s most recognizable franchises. Not only do they now have two All-Stars playing for the team in Noah and the returning Derrick Rose, but they also outfit rising star Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson, Marquis Teague and roster hopefuls Tony Snell and Erik Murphy.
