Since Michael Jordan is now majority owner of the Charlotte Hornets and a self-made billionaire, he wants his team to get some love in the form of shoes. I’m talking about Jordan Brand releasing “Hornets” colorways of some of their sneakers.
The Air Jordan 13 Low is releasing in a Hornets colorway this weekend and there’s also an Air Jordan 5 on the way that is said to be Hornets-inspired as well. Adding to the Hornets craze is the Jordan Son of Mars. While this silhouette is definitely not as popular as its retro counterparts, I think that JB did a pretty good execution with this colorway. This Son of Mars comes with a White leather upper and Midnight Navy and Turquoise Blue accents. Elephant print has been added on the toe and heel along with speckling on the midsole to complete the look.
if you’re planning on picking up a pair, look for the Jordan Son of Mars Low “Hornets” at select retailers on April 22nd for $140.
Another Jordan fusion sneaker that I don’t like very much. And for a retail price of $140 these are a definite pass for me.
I do admit that the colorway is cleanly executed, but if I don’t like the silhouette the color of the sneaker alone will not make me cop.
Does anyone even like the Son of Mars anyway?
