If the news of Jordan Brand’s Spring 2016 releases yesterday wasn’t enough for you, the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital also made some HUGE news of their own. They unveiled the Nike SB Dunk High “What The Doernbecher” that will be limited to only 11 pairs.
Less than 24 hours later, the auctions for the kicks have already gone live on eBay. The Nike SB Dunk High incorporates design elements from all 13 of the program’s SB designs, as well as pays homage to the first Nike SB Dunk “What The.” There is only one of each size 8-12,13 and 14 up for grabs, so it really doesn’t get much more limited than this.
The auctions will run for 10 days, and not even 24 hours in, most of the listings are already hovering around $100,000!! If you absolutely NEED these kicks and have the kind of money for it, head over to eBay now to get your bid in.
I’ve always admired the concept behind the Doernbecher releases, but having these SB Dunks up for auction is a big mistake. They should have just made more pairs and released them at retailers like they’ve done with most other DB releases. How the hell are these shoes already priced at $100,000 not even a day into the bidding?? I hope it’s not just trolls placing fake bids. At least we know that the money will be going to a great cause.
