Most of the New Balance lifestyle/runner silhouettes tend to come in a low-top fashion, but with Fall season in full effect and Winter season right around the corner, New Balance is finding ways to make sure you have their sneakers in your weekly rotation all year long. The very next model coming out of NB has the classic New Balance 696 runner converting into a type of sneakerboot.
The New Balance 996 is composed of an obsidian colored upper made out of a Cordura mesh fabric as well as a suede material to give you a lifestyle look and feel. Leather hits appear on the “N” branding, while a couple of 3M hits appear throughout the shoe. Completing the look is the off-white midsole which also happens to be equipped with REVlite technology to give you a comfortable ride throughout the wear. Are you feeling this sneakerboot version of the New Balance 696, let us know in the comments below.
It looks pretty dope, in my opinion. It doesn’t look like it’s trying to be something it’s not, as a matter of fact, the build of the shoe looks like an original design and not a hybrid that’s derived from a low top sneaker. I can dig it.
