The Jordan CP3.IX has gotten off to a rather ignominious start. Despite being the ninth signature of future Hall of Famer and Jordan Brand athlete Chris Paul, the partnership has yet to produce a shoe that sneakerheads can look back on as a “classic”. There have been years when the designs have been good to great – the stretch between the CP3.V to CP3.VII was particularly noteworthy – but nothing has ever struck a nerve with the sneaker community. Not to say that CP3 shoes don’t have a place in the market (Jordan Brand isn’t foolish enough to keep making these shoes if they weren’t selling to the non-sneakerhead demographic), but it seems like once Paul decides to hang them up for good, it’s going to be a long time before we hear anybody say, “you know what I wish would come back? Those Jordan CP3s.”

It's a start..
It’s a start..

So for this edition of Fun With NIKEiD (yes, it’s going to be a recurring segment now), we are tackling the Jordan CP3.IX and asking ourselves the question, “can we make it look good?” With a solid number of options, including Elephant Print, Dragon Scale (someone’s a Game of Thrones fan) and Argyle (word to Cliff Paul) options, we’re bound to come up with something good, right? Let’s take a look below and let us know what you think of these designs in the comments. Or if you have a better design, feel free to share it us.
