Olympic Track & Field star Michael Johnson is not making a comeback (47 years old), but his memorable sneakers from Nike will be.
At the 1996 Olympic which took place in Atlanta, Johnson swept the 200m and 400m races setting World Record performances while wearing some fancy gold Nike shoes.
“Opting for gold shoes could have been considered downright cocky, but I was confident and never doubted my ability to deliver gold medals to match my shimmering footwear,” Johnson said in his book, “Gold Rush,”according to the Telegraph.
Johnson made the announcement through his Twitter, so you know it’s official.
Just wrapped shooting for new @Nike commercial. Bringing the gold shoes back!

I’ve always loved watching track during the Olympics and I remember watching Michael Johnson during the 2000 Olympics when I was just 10 years old. All I could remember was that he was a FAST man. Well that was until Usain Bolt came along a few years later.
There is no official release date for these memorable golden sneakers yet, but make sure you check back with KoF for more information.
