Not all rivalries are created equal. Some are trivial in nature and don’t matter much, while others have years of hatred and competitiveness at play. One of those great storied rivalries is that of the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tar Heels. And one of the most interesting facets about the rivalry is that the schools are a mere 25 miles away from each other. Two of the topmost NCAA Basketball programs are connected geographically by what is call the “Tobacco Road” (more info about the rivalry here). FILA in a dope show of innovation and creativity has made a pack of two kicks (sold separately) in homage to this legendary rivalry.

Two of FILA recent retro’d  kicks belong to two plays who have played for Duke and UNC respectively. Grant Hill was a Blue Devil and has his FILA ’96 signature, and Jerry Stackhouse was a Tar Heel with his FILA Spaghetti signature. Each signature follows its owner’s collegiate colors, the Spaghettis in sky blue and white, and the ’96s in royal blue. Apart from the kicks a dope part about the story is that GH and Stack would come to play together in Detroit to be a great 1-2 punch. The kicks are set to release on October 3rd so keep yourselves apprised!
