When Jordan Brand announced that they were going to remaster their retros this year we were hoping that some of the classics were brought out from the vault and we’ve gotten our wish. We were already given the Air Jordan 4
“Tech Grey” “Oreo” and “Legend Blue” “Columbia” this year and we are now looking forward to the shoe that started it all for Michael back in 1984-85, the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago.”
As you may already know, Michael Jordan was banned from wearing the legendary Air Jordan 1 when it first came out because the “Bred” colorway did not feature enough white. The league fined MJ $5,000 every time he wore the shoe but Nike was happy to pay the fine because it kept everyone talking about this “crazy” sneaker that wasn’t allowed by the league. Later on Nike created a new colorway that featured some white, the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago.” 30 years later this iconic colorway of the Air Jordan 1 will be receiving the remastered treatment with premium materials that resemble the original. We know everyone is excited about this release, especially since it has the “Nike Air” on the tongue.
Take a look at some detailed images above of the Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” and catch them at select retailers on May 30th for $160.
