This weekend will be unlike any other during the sneaker calendar year as a significant amount of kicks are set to drop that sneakerheads will be rocking and tagging on their social media feeds for weeks – all in celebration of the 2014 NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans. Arguably the most important date on the NBA calendar that doesn’t involve the NBA Finals, this is the time when anybody and everybody that matters in basketball converges onto one location and puts on a show for the rest of the world to see. Naturally, this means that companies like Nike and adidas are going to take advantage of all that exposure and release some heat onto the world.

With this year’s theme being centered around the beautiful city of New Orleans, the All-Star offerings take on a more abstract feel than in years past. Whereas we traveled to the far reaches of the galaxy for the past two years, this time we will be more rooted in the mystique that surrounds the city, from jazz music to magic to food and of course, Mardi Gras. The only question is whether there will be enough kicks for everyboyd that wants these limited releases*.

Here are the kicks that will be part of the narrative for NBA All-Star Weekend 2014 from Nike’s glow-in-the-dark Gumbo League collection to adidas complimenting their All-Star uniforms with classics from the past alongside the debut of the CrazyQuick 2. Let us know which ones you plan on picking up this weekend along with your second and third choices.
