Overall a design that was inspired by an old Japanese proverb – “Tsuru Sen-nen, Kame Man-nen,” which essentially translates to “The crane lives for one thousand years, the tortoise for ten thousand” – this “Crane” iteration evokes the mammal’s recognizable palette with a predominantly Grey hue across its plush suede upper, that’s offset nicely by White accents gracing the formstripes and speckled midsole unit.
Complemented by vivid touches of Red across, but more prominent along its laces, tongue, eyelets, vamp and collar, subtle hints of Black scattered throughout summarize the silhouette’s aesthetically pleasing palette overall.
Really, crane-inspired? I had to google an image of a crane since I barely see one everyday, just so I can differentiate on how closely this resembles the mammal’s palette. As a buyer, the colorway is pleasing to eyes and often used a number of times by countless labels, but.. I get it, brands need a form of inspiration to create “newer” products.
