adidas Originals and Craig Green will be teaming up again for a second collaboration. This Craig Green x adidas Originals collab consists of shoes that debuted at Green’s autumn/winter 2020 show in January. The collaboration is a meeting of minds, with ingenuity, function, innovation, and utility at the core of both brands. For this new collab, Green introduces his take on an iconic adidas style with the CG Superstar sneaker. Green reimagines the shoe through one of his archetypal techniques, using quilting to define the classic Superstar design. Line stitching marks out the shoe toe, with these lines extending all the way up the tongue. Meanwhile, the essential Three Stripes trademark on the side of the shoe is represented by an intensity of contrasted stitching. The result is a new take on the Superstar silhouette, with craftsmanship and a lightweight functionality heightening the aesthetics of this adidas legend. The CG SUPERSTAR style will be available in Off White and Red, or Utility Black with Green. Also new is the CG Kontuur III sneaker, with Green introducing shimmering new versions to update the adidas Mundial football boot. Green has used line stitch quilting to give his version of the Mundial’s distinctive padded leather upper, these lines giving the shoe an ergonomic feeling. The shoe reflects Green’s design interest in anatomy, with the overall effect like the muscle formation of a human foot. The CG Kontuur III style will be available in Black and Legend Earth. Joining these new styles is the CG Polta AKH III silhouette, a fresh take on the CG Polta AKH series launched earlier this year. For this new drop, the transparent layer and printed lining are monochromatic, designed with the adidas Rivalry sole for a sleek finish. The CG Polta AKH III sneaker will be available in Grey and White. Each piece in the collection reflects the commitment to design freedom found in both brands. With his adidas Originals collaboration, Green explores further what’s possible in design, with a focus rooted in functionality and purpose.
