This past Monday we gave you a glimpse of an Air Jordan 1 sample that appeared to have the sole unit of an Air Jordan 2. We weren’t quite sure if this was strictly a sample, or if it was in the works of actually releasing. Now it appears that it will in fact be releasing, and there appears to be more colorways on the way, such as the one pictured above coming in an all black upper with a gum outsole. Introducing the Air Jordan 1.5.
Preliminary talks suggest that this model will be named the Air Jordan 1.5 (makes sense, right?). The shoe features the upper of the iconic Air Jordan 1, with the OG Nike branding found on the tongue of the shoe. The sole unit of the shoe comes from the Air Jordan 2. Another thing worth mentioning, is that that Air Jordan Wings hit usually found on the ankle, has now been converted into a tonal Nike Wings hit. The Nike Swoosh appears to be in reptile print, while the midsole comes in white and the outsole is dressed in gum, giving the shoe a classic aesthetic look. No word yet on when the Air Jordan 1.5 may be releasing, but expect it to release sometime this year.
The sole swap is a subtle change to me. Not only that, but personally thre sole swap change doesn’t necessarily make the shoe ‘better’. I prefer the Air Jordan 1 sole unit. There is not enough change in the shoe to make it grab my attention. Meh.
