The Aurora Borealis theme has been on heavy rotation by plenty of sneakers at the current moment. The latest set of sneakers inspired by the Northern Lights that paint the northern sky are two adidas basketball models (aside from the James Harden PE), the adidas D Lillard 2 and the T-Mac 3. What differentiates these Aurora Borealis themed sneakers from other is the fact that they appear to be triple-white models, but actually end up having the Northern Lights glow when they’re placed under the night sky. Let’s take a look at the adidas Aurora Borealis Triple White Collection.
The D Lillard 2 comes in an all-white Primeknit upper paired up with Boost cushioning on the sole of the shoe. The white upper is then given the glow-in-the-dark treatment that results in blue hits on the heel and outsole that meet a gradient green fade along the upper. The T-Mac 3 will come in two different offerings since it appears to be inspired by the time McGrady wore two different colors of the T-Mac 3 back in 2004 during the NBA All-Star game. Both colorways will also glow-in-the-dark paired up with either a blue or green outsole to compliment the tonal look of the upper. The shoe is constructed out of a leather upper accented by the faux fur accents. Set to arrive February 11th, you will be able to get the adidas D Lillard 2 for $150 and the adidas T-Mac 3 for $150 as well.
Very dope use of the Aurora Borealis theme. It’s kind of like having two shoes in one. Great work, adidas!
