With Y-3 helmed under esteemed Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto, regarded for his avant-garde tailoring featuring Japanese design aesthetics – he previews the adidas Y-3 Vern EQT, which is part of the brand’s forthcoming Fall/Winter 2015 collection.
Essentially a premium rendition of the adidas EQT silhouette, the fashionably inclined sneaker is offered in two dark colorways of Olive/Black and All-Black. The Olive variant inherits a combination of suede and premium leather for its composition, along with a burnt Orange Y-3 branding across its vamp, in addition to the recognizable Three Stripes on the heel cage. Meanwhile, the tonal Black iteration is composed of premium leather with All-Black detailing throughout.
I’ve always admired Yamamoto’s Y-3 line and its futuristic/stylish take on sportswear. Overall, these offerings aren’t that bad, even though I may seem biased, but so far, I feel Raf Simons’ take on adidas’ runners from these past seasons are still better in my opinion.
