While the silhouette is intentionally for women, this rendition of the 580 inherits a masculine feel through its predominantly dark, Navy-colored upper, hence its title. Comprised of breathable mesh and suede overlays, along with synthetic components, the sneaker is supplemented by NB’s robust and lightweight midsole unit in Grey, in addition to more subtle Blue speckling on the rear.
Feminine hits are provided by pops of Pink gracing the “N” logo across its vamp, heel tab and rear portion of its midsole unit, which contribute to an aesthetically pleasing palette overall. Finished off with two-tone, White/Blue laces, look for this iteration of the WMNS 580 at New Balance retailers now for $100.
Honestly if these weren’t labeled for women’s I would have thought it was a men’s colorway, but hey, I guess that’s the point since the shoe’s nickname is “Tomboy.”
The only downside is the sneaker is limited in larger sizing for those of you (men, boys) interested in purchasing a pair.
None the less, the shoe has a nice balance of brightness, while still being understated to maintain a versatile profile. Overall another stylish runner that women can appreciate.
