While we’ve already showcased a number of colorways for this newly-introduced Air Jordan Spike 40, a GS variation of the silhouette is set to arrive this week as well.
Although the exact inspiration of the shoe’s design has yet to be revealed, the silhouette has close ties to Spike Lee’s character, Mars Blackmon, in the 1986 film She’s Gotta Have It. Overall, the sneaker’s upper flaunts a distinctive netted upper in Black, while textured Light Grey overlays are seen on the eyelets, tongue and heel portion. Additional contrasting hits of White are evidenced by Nike branding on the rear and tongue.
Furthermore, bold pops of Fuchsia are implemented on the laces, heel counter and AJ 5-inspired midsole unit. Finishing touches include Black accents throughout, as well as an icy translucent outsole. You can expect to find this pair at select JB stockists starting November 1st.
Not really a fan of this design. I like the midsole, but the makeup of the upper doesn’t do it for me. The colorway isn’t that bad but those Light Grey accents aren’t a good look.
