Not associated with the brewing company, Blue Moon, this particular Nike SB Dunk Low inherits the moniker by taking inspiration from the rare astronomical view of a full moon, shaded in Blue, hence the popular term “Once in a Blue Moon” — or a common way of saying, “not very often.”
Essentially doused in a tonal monochromatic hue of All-Blue, the low-top sneakers are comprised of premium suede overall. Contrasting accents are seen on the tongue tab and insoles via Nike branding in White and Black, while the outsole bears somewhat of a translucent element. Finished off with matching Blue laces and rubber sole unit, you can find this Nike SB Dunk Low “Blue Moon” at select Nike accounts now for $100.
Aside from its nickname, I’m a fan of the all-blue finish. I just like tonal colorways in general and the Dunk Low is one of my favorite silhouette. Six years ago, I would purchase, but this time, I’ll pass.
