Yeah, take a wild guess how this season is going to end…

Before the start of the NBA season, we put together 20 crazy predictions for the season just to see if any of them would actually happen.  Not surprisingly, we horribly off with some of our prognostications but we came pretty close with others.  So here’s a look back at the original piece and how those predictions turned out…

We are on the precipice of one of the most exciting NBA seasons in recent memory.  After an accelerated season that brought us the first championship of LeBron James, the focus will be on him and whether or not he can replicate his memorable run.  The Lakers have reloaded once more with the additions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, hoping that this reload will be better than the last time they thought it was a good idea to team up four future hall of famers (I blame Devean George).  The Oklahoma City Thunder may or may not have blown up their future right before our eyes with a stunning James Harden trade, the Spurs are still the Spurs, the Clippers are knocking on the door, the Celtics are just becoming more and more ornery and then there’s the Brooklyn Nets debuting a phenomenal new stadium and staking their claim to the city, “Takeover” from The Blueprint style.

Yeah, good times, y’all…

So in honor of the season tipping off in a mere few hours, what better way to celebrate the moment before than with a preview column?  But we’re not doing the standard who’s going to win the championship type of preview here at Kicks on Fire.  Nope, instead we’re going to lay out 20 predictions that we have for the upcoming season as it relates to kicks.  People love their retro heat for sure, but this season is going to have more new new sneakers that it’s going to be hard to deny their relevance.  So get your popcorn ready and be sure to discuss the predictions below in the comments section…

20. The Under Armour Charge BB will be a retro success

It’s an interesting look to say the least and people will be hesitant to pick it up today, but the super high-top trend will catch on once the technology is really there.  And if Ewing Athletics has proven anything, it’s that people love retro product.  The summer of 2032 is going to be all about the Charge BB, you just wait.

Why do I get the feeling the Charge BB will be a mainstay of any “Kicks That Will Never Get A Retro” list?  Sure, they might be hot years from now, but nah. We’re off to an suspect start, kids.
