The Air Jordan 2 (II) Retro – Carmello Anthony (Melo) White / University Blue – Varisty Maize were created for NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, and the color scheme is inspired by the Denver Nuggets colors, which is the team that he plays for. They were a success, selling out at many places on the release date. They feature a white leather upper with faux lizard skin, and blue and yellow accents. The Air Jordan 2 (II) were not as popular as originals, but sold much better as retros. The only knock on them is that the midsole is very soft, causing them to wear out quickly.
