The Air Jordan 12 (XII) Retro WMNS – Melo (White / University Blue – Metallic Silver) were released1 on February 14, 2004. They are women’s versions, but a men’s version was released in the same colorway, but many people did not know that, They feature a white leather upper with blue accents, as seen on the tongue, inner lining, and sole. The colors are soft, but still stand out, making these a really nice pair of shoes. The shoe’s stitching is inspired by the “Nisshoki”, which is the Japanese rising sun flag, as well as a 19th century women’s dress boot. The stitching radiates outward like sun rays. These are nicknamed Melo’s because Carmelo Anthony is a member of Team Jordan, and these are said to be his specific colorway.
