As the game of basketball began to expand and gain popularity, the Pro Legacy hit the market. A game dominated by Nike and Converse, Reebok was looking for a way to get its foot in the door. They approached to stars of the NBA, Danny Ainge and Dennis Johnson, two members of the NBA Champion Boston Celtics, who decided to sign contracts with Reebok, and the rest is history.
The Pro Legacy was worn by both Ainge and Johnson, and came in high- top and low- top, as well as a variety of colorways. The white/ black/ gold and white/ green/ black editions were the most sought after. In 2003, Reebok reissued the Pro Legacy in the original colorways.
