The Insta Pump Fury was at the cutting edge of design.? It was the center of attention in Reebok?s Pump line.? It was the first to fully utilize the Pump technology: the lacing system was no longer a necessity, as the inflated tongue or front panel held the foot in place both comfortably and securely.? It was an instant success overseas in Japan, and as it soon made its way to Europe, collectors over there were fascinated by its design.

In 1996, it was reissued as just the Pump Fury. This reissue of the shoe addressed all the problems created with the first one.? The Hexalite technology was added which provided for a more rigid front section.
