The Air Jordan Spizike - black/varsity red-classic green was the second release in the Air Jordan Spizikes series. It features a black suede upper with green and red accents, and a patent leather strip that runs around the front end of the shoe.� The inner lining also features some intricate design. This shoe sold well, as it was highly anticipated, and definitely lived up to the hype. Only the two original colorways, this being one of them, were set to be released, but after the warm welcome from Jordan fanatics worldwide, Jordan Brand decided to release more. The shoe was created to pay homage to Mars Blackmon aka Spike Lee. Spike’s part in the rising of the Air Jordan was very crucial. A lot of people may remember the funny commercials Spike Lee’s alias Mars Blackmon from the movie She’s Gotta Have it. The Air Jordan Spizikes are hybrids of several Air Jordans, including the Air Jordan 3 (III) sole, midsole, and Spike /elephant print, wings on the sides of the shoes that hold lace loops from the Air Jordan 4 (IV) , and
the main silhouette of the shoes as well as netting on the side from the Air Jordan 5 (V) . The tongue and lace locks are modeled after the Air Jordan 6 (VI), while the back tab comes from the Air Jordan 9 (IX).
