The swoosh logo covered almost the whole side panel of the Nike Blazer because Nike designers wanted everyone to notice it. The legendary George Gervin aka the Ice Man wore and represented the Blazer. Blazers were produced in leather, suede and canvas. Even though they did not feature Nike’s revolutionary technologies, the process of fusing the outsole to the upper was pretty interesting - it was executed with autoclave, which baked the shoes at a high temperature and this is what melded the upper to the midsole.
Streetwear label Stussy was picked to collaborate with Nike to produce two different colorways in 2001. Continuing with the ’street’ theme, Nike worked with New York graffiti artists Future as part of Nike’s Artist series in 2003. There were only 1,000 pairs ever produced so they are extremely rare and hot collectors’ items. Nike Air Court was the name give to the canvas edition of the Nike Blazer.
